The Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail International Circuit is a night race, which means fans have the whole day to explore Doha before heading out to the track. But when it’s time to get there, what’s the best way? Whether you’re traveling by metro, shuttle, taxi, or car, here’s a guide to all the transport options for race weekend.
The Doha Metro is the most popular way to reach the Grand Prix. Take the Red Line northbound to Lusail Metro Station, the closest stop to the circuit. From there, a fleet of free shuttle buses runs to Lusail International Circuit.
Shuttles depart from the east side of Lusail Metro Station, starting about 30 minutes before the circuit gates open. The ride usually takes between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

If you have a valid race ticket, you can even claim a free three-day metro and tram pass at selected stations. It’s a great way to save money and avoid the hassle of driving.
For fans who prefer direct transport, Karwa taxis and Uber are widely available across Doha. Expect to pay around 35 QAR (~$10) from West Bay to the circuit, although fares can rise at peak times.
Taxis and rideshares drop off and pick up passengers at official zones close to the main entrance. They usually operate until 3:00 in the morning, making them a convenient option after the race and post-race concerts.
The downside? Heavy traffic around the circuit can slow things down, especially after the Grand Prix. Many fans recommend taking a taxi into the circuit and grabbing a metro on the way home.
Fastway1 attended the Grand Prix in 2024, and there where quite a few hiccups with the Taxi system leaving the circuit. But, it was drastically better the last day, and so we are confiedent the organizers are going to plan this better for future Qatar GP's.
It’s possible to drive yourself to the Qatar Grand Prix, but parking is limited. Drivers should exit at 29B on the Al Khor Coastal Road and follow the signs to the designated parking areas.
